Increase in Qatar's Industrial Production Index

The industrial production index in Qatar recorded 100.2 points in March, an increase of 4.7% compared to February 2024, while it decreased by 3.2% compared to the same month in 2023. The index reflects the growth details of the various economic-industrial sectors that comprise it: mining and quarrying, which holds a relative importance of 82.46%, manufacturing industry with a relative importance of 15.85%, electricity with a relative importance of 1.16%, and water with a relative importance of 0.53%. Data published today by the Qatar National Planning Council and reported by the Qatar News Agency "QNA," showed an increase in the mining sector index compared to the previous month (February 2024) by 4.8%, attributed to the rise in quantities produced in the crude oil and natural gas extraction segment by the same percentage, along with a 4.5% increase in other mining and quarrying activities.
