The American chip manufacturing company Nvidia and its employees have donated $15 million to Israeli non-profit organizations that support civilians affected by the war between Israel and the Palestinian Islamic resistance movement (Hamas). The company announced on Sunday that thousands of employees from over 30 countries contributed a total of $5 million, to which the company added $10 million as part of a special program launched to assist those impacted by the war. It stated that this represents the largest humanitarian fundraising campaign in the company's 30-year history. Gideon Rosenberg, the company's Deputy General Counsel, said, "We are proud to see this broad support from Nvidia families in Israel and around the world and feel grateful for their prayers and hopes for the return of our colleague, Avinatan Or, and other hostages from Hamas." Or, 30 years old, has been working as an engineer at the company since April 2022, according to his LinkedIn profile. He was taken hostage by Hamas while attending the Nova music festival with his girlfriend on October 7, among about 240 captives. Some of them have since been released. Nvidia reported that it has donated hundreds of computers to families evacuated from northern and southern Israel and provided thousands of hot meals from its cafeteria in Yokne'am.
