Grings is recognized as the second top scorer in the history of the women's Bundesliga. She stated, "I regretfully decided to take this step to alleviate the pressure on the team and the association in light of current events." She added, "It was a wonderful period for me with many unique experiences as a national team coach." The Swiss Football Association has not announced a replacement for the German coach.
