The "Retired Military Personnel Gathering" announced its decision to take action next Tuesday by closing the TVA, revenues building, and the port, in protest of the government's failure to meet their demands. In a statement, they said: "After all the procrastination and delay from the government in correcting salaries and providing raises to the remaining public sector employees. The legal forum for the armed forces retirees presented its vision on how to apply justice and equality among all sectors by canceling all increases and grants and redistributing a single percentage of the actual salary value before 2019." The gathering declared its decision to "escalate action starting next Tuesday by closing the TVA, revenues building, and the Port of Beirut as a final message to this government before taking measures and actions that will include all decision-making sites, as it is absolutely unacceptable to remain silent about the humiliation faced by active duty soldiers and retirees by being considered unproductive." They called on the families of active duty and retired military personnel, as well as all who value justice and a decent living, to "participate in the actions until their demands are met."
