Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati affirmed that Lebanon has no option but to follow the path of constructive dialogue, mutual respect, and tolerance that represents harmony within diversity. During a celebration for International Francophonie Day at the Grand Serail on Wednesday, Mikati noted that "we are still victims of Israeli aggression, which continues to violate international law by targeting civilians and infrastructure, and persists in the deliberate destruction of natural and agricultural ecosystems." He added that "in the face of disturbances caused by regional and global instability, where peace is more threatened than ever, and where humanity has failed in addressing Palestine, resorting to humanitarian values, such as those represented by Francophonie, is the only way to spare us moral and ethical drowning." He emphasized that "turning to humanitarian values, such as those represented by Francophonie, is the only way to avoid moral and ethical drowning."
