Member of the "Strong Republic" bloc, MP Fadi Karam, expressed regret that "while we have a Lebanese state, we are waiting for what Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah will say tomorrow based on Iranian calculations and the unity of arenas." He stated, "What we want as Lebanese is to keep Lebanon away from war, despite the fact that we have entered it and are paying a heavy price due to our ties with the resisting arenas."
In an interview with "Voice of Lebanon," he noted that "there is no decision in the government or according to the Lebanese partnership to engage in war, but if it breaks out, we will turn to humanitarian affairs, and I do not believe any Lebanese will hesitate to assist another Lebanese." Politically, he affirmed that as the opposition, they will do everything necessary to hold Hezbollah accountable for continuously placing Lebanon in danger, destroying its economy, and causing suffering for the Lebanese as a result of its policies linked to the unity of arenas.
He pointed out that "there are external communications in this regard, and the outside may express its opinion, but the decision is in the hands of the inside." He added, "As Lebanese, we reject Hezbollah's regional policies, so we must rise to the historical responsibility and stand against it if we are dragged into war, and say enough, we will not accept to be held hostage to your Iranian calculations."
