The White House announced that the United States and Saudi Arabia are close to reaching a final agreement regarding security guarantees and civilian nuclear assistance. A senior U.S. administration official stated on Tuesday that the United States and Saudi Arabia have reached a near-final set of arrangements for a bilateral defense agreement that includes a security component and another related to civilian nuclear energy. Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman hosted U.S. National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan on Sunday, where they reviewed strategic relations and ways to enhance them in various areas. They also discussed the near-final format of the strategic agreement projects between the Kingdom and the United States, which are nearing completion, as well as ongoing cooperation on Palestinian issues to create a credible path towards a two-state solution that meets the aspirations and legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. Additionally, they addressed regional developments, including the situation in Gaza and the necessity of stopping the war there, as well as facilitating the entry of humanitarian assistance.
