Jose Mourinho, the former coach of Roma, has surprised clubs in the Saudi Pro League with a sudden decision in his coaching career. Mourinho's name has been frequently associated with training one of the major clubs in the Saudi league, such as Al-Ittihad, Al-Nassr, and the newly promoted Al-Qadisiyah.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano on his "X" account, Fenerbahçe is close to a final agreement with Mourinho to coach the team starting next season.
Romano stated: "José Mourinho’s verbal agreement with Fenerbahçe is on a two-year contract valid until June 2026. It will also include an option for an additional season. Jorge Mendes has been negotiating the deal and now it’s time to review and sign all formal documents. Here we go soon!"
He further explained: "Mourinho has indeed accepted Fenerbahçe's offer, as a verbal agreement has been reached, and the contract is currently under review." An announcement regarding Mourinho's appointment as Fenerbahçe's coach could be made today, Friday, according to the Portuguese newspaper "A Bola."
Additionally, Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio confirmed through his official account that "Mourinho has agreed to coach Fenerbahçe on a two-season contract." Mourinho is considered one of the most prominent coaches in European football history, given the achievements he has secured with various teams he has managed.
