The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division announced today, Saturday, that "as part of the daily monitoring carried out by the Internal Security Forces to pursue and arrest those involved in drug trafficking and promotion in various Lebanese regions, information was gathered by the Information Branch regarding two unidentified individuals promoting drugs in the Dhour al-Shweir area."
The statement continued: "Consequently, specialized units in the branch began fieldwork and inquiries to identify and apprehend the traffickers. As a result of investigations and intelligence work, their identities were determined as follows: F. W. (born in 1997, Lebanese) and M. S. (born in 1995, Lebanese). On 25-10-2023, after precise surveillance, one of the patrols of the Information Branch managed to arrest the suspects in Halba Square."
It further stated: "Upon searching them, a military-grade pistol, 44 plastic capsules containing cocaine, a quantity of hashish, and a rolling paper notebook were seized. During the investigation, they admitted to the charges against them regarding their involvement in drug promotion to several clients in the Dhour al-Shweir area for a sum of $150 a day. Legal measures were taken against them, and they, along with the seized items, were referred to the relevant authority based on the instructions of the competent judiciary."
