The UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, met today in Abu Dhabi with the UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Reconstruction in Gaza, Sigird Kagh. The UAE Foreign Minister discussed the developments in the Middle East and ways to enhance the response to the escalating humanitarian crisis in Gaza, as well as methods to provide sustainable support for civilians in the area. He noted that the UAE spares no effort in extending a helping hand to the Palestinian brothers and providing initiatives for their relief by land, sea, or air.
During the meeting, he reaffirmed the UAE's support for the efforts of the United Nations and Sigird Kagh to help alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people and address the humanitarian crisis facing civilians in Gaza. He pointed out that the current dangerous situations in the Middle East undermine efforts to enhance humanitarian responses for civilians, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation to end extremism, rising tensions, and violence, and to reach a sustainable ceasefire while ensuring safe and persistent channels for delivering humanitarian aid to civilians in Gaza without obstacles.
