Russian and Belarusian specialists are collaborating to manufacture a new satellite for remote sensing of the Earth, featuring unique specifications. Dmitry Mezentsev, the Secretary of the Union State of Russia and Belarus, announced in an interview with the newspaper "Izvestia" that the successful cooperation between "Roscosmos" and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus has resulted in the creation of a Russian-Belarusian joint satellite for remote sensing. This project boasts unique characteristics and is considered essential for economic growth, defense, and security development.
Mezentsev pointed out that Belarus is a space-faring country, and the control center for space flights is located not only in the suburbs of Moscow but also in Minsk. He recalled that the year 2023 witnessed record merchandise exchanges between the two countries, amounting to 54 billion dollars, with over 900 measures being taken to achieve 28 joint investment projects.
