Eight Wanted Individuals Arrested by the Information Branch During a Security Operation in Tripoli

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division issued the following statement: "As part of the ongoing efforts by the Internal Security Forces to pursue and arrest individuals wanted by the judiciary in order to maintain security and stability in various regions of Lebanon, particularly in the northern governorate, orders were given to the specialized Information Branch units to intensify their patrols in the city of Tripoli and work on apprehending wanted individuals and suspects involved in various types of crimes.

On December 29, 2023, as a result of surveillance operations carried out by the branch, eight suspects were arrested as follows:

- M. K. (born in 2000, Palestinian) was arrested in the al-Baddawi area, with a search and investigation notice for the crime of altercation and gunfire.

- Y. H. (born in 2000, registered as unknown) was arrested in Al-Nour Square while riding an unregistered blue motorcycle, which was seized. He also possessed a quantity of cannabis, Captagon pills, a rolling paper notebook, and a mobile phone.

- S. M. (born in 2001, Lebanese) was arrested in Bab al-Ramel with a search and investigation notice for the crime of gunfire, and a military pistol with a magazine and two usable bullets was seized from him.

- M. M. (born in 1984, Lebanese) was arrested in the Qobbeh area with an arrest warrant for theft.

- F. R. (born in 1998, Lebanese) was arrested in Jabal Mohsen with a search and investigation notice for obstructing the work of an Internal Security Forces patrol and a court ruling summary for disturbing the peace.

- M. A. (born in 1968, Lebanese) was arrested in Jabal Mohsen while in a state of apparent intoxication.

- A. S. (born in 1985, Lebanese) was arrested in Jabal Mohsen while in a state of apparent intoxication.

- F. K. (born in 1967, Lebanese) was arrested in the Tabbaneh area, with an arrest warrant for possession of military weapons. A Kalashnikov-type military rifle, eight magazines, and 239 usable bullets were seized from him.

Legal measures were taken against them, and they, along with the seized items, were handed over to the relevant authorities, based on the instructions of the competent judicial authority."
