A report from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) indicated that Iran has increased its stockpile of enriched uranium in recent months to 30 times the permitted limit. The IAEA highlighted the nuclear escalation from Iran in its report. It stated that Iran's enriched uranium stockpile reached 6201.3 kilograms on May 11, compared to 5525.5 kilograms in February, which is thirty times above the limit set by the international agreement signed in 2015. Tehran denies seeking to acquire a nuclear bomb.
The report noted that Iran has significantly exceeded the enrichment ceiling of 3.67%, the level used in nuclear power plants for electricity production. Iran now possesses 751.3 kilograms of uranium enriched to 20%, compared to 712.2 kilograms three months ago. For uranium enriched to 60%, Iran has raised its stockpile to 142.1 kilograms, up from 121.5 kilograms previously, which is enough material to manufacture three nuclear bombs if the enrichment level were increased to the 90% required for military use, according to the IAEA's definition.
