Technical Glitch Halts New York Stock Exchange and Causes Stock Decline

A technical glitch during the morning trading session at the New York Stock Exchange on Monday negatively impacted some stock prices. Berkshire Hathaway's stock, owned by billionaire Warren Buffett, saw a 99% drop. Shares of Barrick Gold and NuScale Power Corporation also fell by 99% due to the glitch, while Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste's stock declined by 66%. Chipotle's shares were affected as well, although they appeared to decrease by only 1.2%. The technical issue led to the suspension of dozens of stocks just moments after the session began. The exchange stated, "We are investigating a reported technical issue." This marks the second glitch in U.S. markets within days, as data updates for the S&P 500 and Dow Jones indices were briefly halted on Thursday, but trading continued normally afterward without affecting stock prices.
