The Kataeb Party: Jrebaga Elected as First Deputy Chair by Acclamation

The Kataeb Party announced that "after the vacancy of the position of the first deputy chair of the party, and according to the procedures and regulations in force within the party, Professor Bernard Jrebaga has been elected to the post by acclamation. Jrebaga joined the Kataeb Party in 1988 and has advanced through party positions. After being elected as a member of the Kataeb Political Bureau, he was appointed as the head of the Health and Social Council in 2021 and as the third deputy chair of the party in 2023."

The party distributed Jrebaga's professional biography, which states: "He specializes in pediatrics and has held several educational and administrative positions related to his specialty. He is a professor of pediatrics at Saint Joseph University in Beirut, the former head of the pediatrics department, and a former member of the medical school council. He is the founding director of the Child Protection Unit, HDFUH, and the former president of the Lebanese Pediatric Society from 2015 to 2017, and of the International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (ISPCAN) from 2016 to 2018. He is a former member of the Beirut Medical Syndicate council and chair of the scientific committee. He is the president of the Lebanese Foundation for Child Rights (www.ChildOfLebanon.org), the former president of the Union for the Protection of Youth in Lebanon (www.UPEL-lb.net), a founding member and former vice president of the Academic Observatory for Children and Youth in Lebanon (oeil@usj.edu.lb), a founding member and former vice president of the Technical Committee for the Expanded National Immunization Program (EPI) at the Ministry of Public Health, deputy chair of the Certification Committee at the Ministry of Public Health, chair of NITAG, the National Immunization Technical Advisory Group at the Ministry of Public Health, a former member of the INSPIRE Council at the World Health Organization, a former member of the UN Global Partnership to End Violence Against Children, a founding member and treasurer of the Arab Society for the Protection of Children Against Violence, and a former member of the Beirut Municipal Council from 1998 to 2004."
