The Pentagon indicated that "the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Chad is a temporary measure," adding that "Washington is reviewing its security cooperation with Chad." The Pentagon spokesperson stated, "In May, we transferred a small group of American military personnel from Chad, some of whom were preparing to leave anyway, and this team continues to perform tasks from different locations outside of Chad." He noted that "this temporary step is part of our ongoing review of security cooperation," affirming that "the United States is prepared to work together with Chad." It is worth mentioning that the United States had previously announced the departure of most of its forces from Chad at the request of the country's authorities.
