A woman from Florida heard a rustling sound at her door and thought someone was trying to enter the wrong house, so she got up to chase them away. Instead, Mary Hollinback found an 8-foot alligator wandering in her home. The massive reptile was strong enough to open her front door, south of Sarasota, and displace the magnetic latch. It entered her kitchen searching for a meal while Hollinback panicked and wondered how she would get the enormous animal out. In an interview with "WFLA," she said she was shaking so much that she could only call 911, but her phone was just inches away from the alligator on the kitchen table. Very cautiously, she sneaked behind the alligator and grabbed her phone. Two Sarasota County deputy sheriffs and three officers from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission arrived to take care of the alligator. They contained it and secured its jaws, then three of them transported it to a truck and took it to an alligator farm.
