In recent hours, news spread about Syrian artist George Wassouf facing a health crisis that led to his hospitalization and subsequent surgery. However, the artist's management confirmed his health status. In a press statement, the management stated that "the artist is currently in good health and continues his artistic activities as he is recording a song in the studio in preparation for its release during the upcoming summer season."
Some Lebanese newspapers had reported that George Wassouf recently underwent surgery due to severe nasal bleeding caused by high blood pressure. Recently, Wassouf revealed his struggles following the death of his son Wadi, who passed away last year. In an interview on the "Big Time" podcast hosted by journalist Amr Adib with artist Assala, he mentioned that "he is still suffering from the shock of his son's death, which hit him like a bolt of lightning. He still cannot believe that his son is gone, despite his attempts to accept the situation, but the tragedy was immense for him."
George Wassouf is set to perform a concert in Dubai on June 28, 2024, as part of a summer concert series. The organizing company announced that tickets will be available to the public through its website.
