The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement today, Thursday: "As part of the continuous monitoring by the specialized units of the Internal Security Forces to curb drug trafficking and promotion in various Lebanese regions, the Information Branch received data concerning two individuals involved in drug trafficking in the Galerie Semaan area and surrounding regions.
As a result, the specialized units of the Information Branch were tasked with conducting field and investigative procedures to identify and apprehend them. Following investigations, it was revealed that they are identified as: H. M. (born in 2001, Lebanese) and M. K. (born in 1992, Lebanese).
On 08-02-2024, after thorough surveillance and monitoring, one of the patrols apprehended them in the act at Galerie Semaan while they were promoting drugs from a black Mazda vehicle, which was seized and used in the trafficking operations. Upon searching them and the vehicle, the following were confiscated: 5 plastic bags containing approximately 6.2 grams of cocaine, a roll of cigarette papers, a SIM card, two mobile phones, a tablet device, and a sum of money.
During the interrogation, they admitted to the allegations regarding their involvement in drug trafficking in the Galerie Semaan area and surrounding regions using the vehicle they were apprehended in, stating they obtained the drugs from a dealer inside the Sabra camp. Legal measures were taken against them, and they, along with the seized items, were referred to the relevant authority based on the judicial directive."
