The mother of the Secretary-General of "Hezbollah," Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, was laid to rest at two o'clock in the afternoon yesterday, Sunday, at the Martyrs' Cemetery in the southern suburbs of Beirut. The leadership of "Hezbollah" and "Amal Movement" received condolences for the death of Mrs. Nahidah Safi al-Din, "Um Hassan." Various figures and meetings with the Secretary-General of "Hezbollah" expressed their condolences, praying for him and the family with patience and solace. The media relations of "Hezbollah" stated in a statement that the Secretary-General received telegrams of condolences and sympathy for the death of his mother from: "Islamic Jihad Movement, Institute of the University of Religions and Sects, Grand Mufti of Iraq Sheikh Dr. Mehdi bin Ahmed al-Sumaida'i, Secretary-General of the Fatah Organization Dr. Mohammad Qais, Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Democratic Palestinian Liberation Movement, Arab Democratic Nasiri Party, Syrian National Youth Party, Secretary-General of the Islamic Movement Shibl al-Zaydi, and Dr. Hassan Ahmed Hassan." Nasrallah did not participate in the funeral and burial ceremonies.
