Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi articulated that "God has honored Egypt with the visit of the Family of the Prophet Muhammad. When they sought a place to settle and protect themselves, their destination was Egypt." The president made these remarks during the inauguration of the rejuvenated Sayyida Zainab Mosque. He added, "The Family of the Prophet found in Egypt the security and safety they yearned for, and this is a blessing from God upon Egypt."
President Sisi welcomed the Sultan of the Bohra community as a guest in Egypt, expressing his greetings, appreciation, and gratitude for participating in the inauguration and restoration of the shrines of Imam Hussein, Sayyida Nafisa, and Sayyida Zainab. He stated, "Your participation and contribution are greatly valued and signify love for the Family of the Prophet. Egypt has a significant plan to develop the mosques of the Family of the Prophet and the Companions who have passed through Egypt, with renovations for several mosques starting from the Citadel to Sayyida Nafisa."
On Sunday, Sisi performed two units of prayer in greeting for the mosque upon his arrival. The Bohra community plays a vital role in restoring mosques and shrines of the Family of the Prophet and ancient mosques in Cairo, in addition to the developmental and charitable projects they undertake in the country.
