The distinguished Jaafari Mufti, Sheikh Ahmad Qablan, emphasized that "protecting the state and remaining within its sovereign and existential meaning, as well as affirming our national interests and civil peace, requires an understanding that this country lies on the line of heated international and regional interests. Therefore, dozens of international and regional security agencies invade it under many disguises, with their financial, media, and destructive tools, and with their diverse armies capable of inciting sectarian tensions and mobilization, criminalization, and altering faces while dancing on the blood of victims."
He stated in a statement that "the need is to protect Lebanon's foundation with the mark of Patriarch Al-Hweik and the liberated and protected Lebanon with the mark of resistance. We must protect Lebanon as a state, its institutions, and its people by safeguarding the resistance and neutralizing it from sectarian agendas and international games. The most sacred duty lies in protecting our national unity and not falling into the traps of media manipulated by the poison of international and regional strife. The logic of the state and the resistance is complementary and existential for the entity, the state, and its sects and their diversity. Lebanon's history in this regard is as clear as the sun, and it is forbidden to oppress or undermine the resistance.
In this context, the national necessity compels us to safeguard coexistence and to adhere to ministerial statements, as international and regional projects seek to reduce Lebanon to a mere swamp of devastation and civil war. The solution lies in politics, and the most important venue for settlements currently is the Parliament, as the issue is one of saving the state and national interests. The presidency in this circumstance is not just a number but a national safety valve, and national rescue now passes through a strong and swift presidential and governmental settlement."
He concluded: "President Nabih Berri is a brilliant national figure whose history of protecting the country’s constitutional pact is more famous than fire to a flame. He is, in this context, the largest figure capable of breaking the political deadlock and achieving a presidential and governmental settlement that can save the country from the deafening catastrophe surrounding it. The essential mandate is to protect Lebanon and its unifying state, prevent the rampant strife, and affirm our national partnership. Our hearts, homes, blood, souls, and all our capabilities serve our Christian brothers, who represent the duality of the resurrection of Lebanon."
