The South Korean military estimated that approximately 330 waste balloons were sent by North Korea yesterday, Saturday, after activists from the southern part of the peninsula similarly launched propaganda leaflets against the regime in Pyongyang. The Joint Chiefs of Staff in Seoul stated in a statement that "about 80 balloons have fallen in our area so far and nothing has been detected in the air at present." They clarified that "analysis of the balloons shows that they do not contain any hazardous materials."
