Report on the Incident West of Hodeidah in Yemen

The British Maritime Trade Operations agency reported on Sunday that it received information about an incident 65 nautical miles from the Yemeni port of Hodeidah. They indicated that an investigation is underway and warned ships to exercise caution while transiting the area and to report any suspicious activities. It is noteworthy that the Houthi group has carried out more than 150 attacks on commercial vessels, claiming they were headed for Israel. These attacks have indeed prompted commercial companies to switch to longer and more expensive routes around Africa. Such aggressions have heightened fears that the war between Israel and Hamas could destabilize the Middle East region. Meanwhile, U.S. aircraft have also conducted dozens of strikes on Houthi positions in Yemen and managed to intercept many missiles and drones launched towards cargo ships.
