The Media Commission of the Progressive Socialist Party stated that "recently, suspicious accounts impersonating institutions or entities related to the Progressive Socialist Party in the mountains, south, and Bekaa regions have proliferated on social media. These accounts disseminate divisive posts that rely on sectarian incitement and intentional distortion for known malicious purposes, primarily targeting civil peace and Lebanon's diverse identity. This aligns clearly with the ongoing objective of the Israeli enemy, seeking division and conflict among the Lebanese."
The statement warned against "being drawn into these accounts and the lies and rumors they propagate," indicating that they are "in the process of taking legal action against these accounts." It called on "security agencies to pursue them legally and for the competent judiciary to take action regarding this matter."
The Commission concluded: "What is happening in the south and within occupied Palestine reinforces our conviction to support the Palestinian cause and stand united with the resilience of the people in the south and Bekaa, along with the resistance in its confrontation with the Israeli enemy, remaining constantly prepared against any threats to Lebanon and the Lebanese people."
