The defense of Hannibal Gaddafi, the son of the late Libyan president Muammar Gaddafi, who has been detained in Lebanon for more than 7 years, announced that his health has deteriorated in prison and that he has entered a danger phase, having refused to be transferred to intensive care following a sharp decline in his pulse. Gaddafi's defense team held all relevant authorities responsible for his safety, calling for intervention to secure his release. Hannibal Gaddafi, who has been imprisoned in Lebanon for years, confirmed days ago that he would continue his hunger strike until he is released.
Meanwhile, Hannibal Gaddafi's case remains unresolved in the courts, despite various Libyan parties attempting to intervene for his release, and despite negotiations that took place between his defense team and the committee assigned to the case of Imam Musa al-Sadr. The Libyan Presidential Council announced the formation of a committee headed by Minister of Justice Halima Bouzefi to follow up on this case, and instructed the establishment of a defense body to handle legal matters before all relevant Lebanese authorities and courts to ensure a fair trial, although no results of their efforts have been announced yet.
It is noteworthy that the case of the Gaddafi son, which is of significant interest to the Libyans, has resurfaced since he declared on June 3rd that he had entered a hunger strike in protest against the ongoing Lebanese judiciary's detention of him. Hannibal maintains his innocence regarding the case of the disappearance of Musa al-Sadr, stating multiple times during investigations that he possesses no information as the incident occurred when he was a child, asserting that only his older brother Saif al-Islam Gaddafi, former Prime Minister Abdul Salam Jloud, family relative Ahmed Qadhaaf al-Dem residing in Cairo, and former Foreign Minister Moussa Koussa are aware of the details surrounding the incident.
