Killings of Two Palestinian Young Men by Israeli Gunfire in the West Bank

The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced today, Sunday, that "two Palestinian young men have died from Israeli gunfire in the occupied West Bank." The Israeli military did not confirm the incident but stated that two suspects had thrown explosives at a local residential area, endangering civilians, to which the forces responded with live ammunition. The military added in a statement: "Two direct hits were observed." The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that the two young men (aged 16 and 17) were killed west of the Aqbat Jaber refugee camp near the city of Jericho in the West Bank. Palestinian media reported that medical teams were prevented from reaching one of those injured and that the other succumbed to his injuries today in a hospital in Jerusalem. The Ministry of Health stated that one of the young men was shot in the head while the other was shot in the chest.
