The UAE has completed negotiations on a "Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement" with the Republic of Congo, marking the second announced agreement with an African country within a week. UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, Thani Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, stated via his account on the "X" platform that the UAE is "continuing to expand its network of trade partners worldwide with the announcement of a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement with Congo Brazzaville, making it the second with an African nation in days. This will provide new focal points for our foreign trade to launch into promising markets on the African continent." Al Zeyoudi added that this partnership is based on promising trade momentum, as non-oil trade between the UAE and Congo Brazzaville increased by 134% in the first half of 2023, reaching $2.1 billion.
