Fiad Urges "Total" to Expedite Submission of Drilling Report for Block 9

The Minister of Energy in the caretaker government, Walid Fiad, pointed out that the Lebanese government should have a clear position with Syria, especially regarding the issue of refugees. Regarding the cessation of drilling by "Total" in Block 9, Fiad stated in an interview with "Al-Jadeed" channel: "We are waiting for the drilling report to see if it is convincing." He clarified that "the company had its technical reasons, and I am not sure if this issue is related to what happened in Gaza." He urged "Total" to expedite the delivery of the report. Regarding the exploration file in general, Fiad noted that politics plays a role, and when the war in Gaza occurred, "they disappeared," referring to "Total."
