Security cameras captured the moment three friends embraced each other seconds before being swept away by a sudden flood in Italy. The heart-wrenching footage shows 20-year-old Patrizia Cormos, her friend 23-year-old Bianca Doros, and 25-year-old Cristian Molnar standing in the depths of a raging river. They were last seen alive on Friday, walking along the Natisson River in Udine, in the Friuli region; however, the water levels rose to dangerous heights after days of heavy rain, stranding the group on a small gravel island in the middle of the river as they held onto each other in a desperate attempt to prevent being swept away.
Regional fire chief Giorgio Basile reported that he threw them a rope in a desperate attempt to save the group, but the floodwaters engulfed them while he watched them disappear. Italian authorities announced that two bodies, believed to belong to Cormos and Doros, were found one kilometer from the incident site. The search continues for Molnar, with the fire service pledging not to stop until the third missing person is found.
One of the women made an emergency call to the police at 1:35 PM on Friday, and firefighters soon arrived. A firefighter instructed them to cling to each other from a nearby bridge for stability, urging the terrified friends: "Stay together, huddle up, hug each other." However, he was later heard in horror exclaiming, "Oh no, my God."
