A statement was issued today, Thursday, by the Media Affairs Office in the General Directorate of General Security as follows: "Regarding the granting of annual and permanent residencies based on bank guarantees, the required bank statement will be replaced by a cash guarantee deposited in the treasury cash fund or by a cash check (FRESH) at the Ministry of Finance - Treasury Department - Accounting and Funds. The concerned party will receive a deposit receipt that should be attached to the residency application to grant either an annual or permanent residency based on the cash guarantee, which is exclusively for those who have previously obtained an annual or permanent residency based on a bank statement or monthly income. The beneficiaries of this residency include the concerned party, their spouse, their minor children, and their relatives over the age of sixty-four.
* The values of the cash guarantees are determined as follows:
1. 500,000,000 L.L. (five hundred million Lebanese pounds) for obtaining a residency card for one year.
2. 4,500,000,000 L.L. (four billion five hundred million Lebanese pounds) for obtaining a residency card for three years.
The residency granted in exchange for a cash guarantee can be renewed under the same guarantee without the need for a new cash guarantee deposit. The guarantee will be released in the following cases:
- If the application for residency or renewal is rejected.
- If the residency expires and the concerned party does not wish to renew it.
- In the event of the concerned party's death, the right to recover the guarantee returns to all heirs or their lawful representatives.
- If a decision is made to cancel and withdraw the residency, requiring the concerned party to leave Lebanon.
**Method for Releasing the Guarantee:**
The concerned party or their lawful representative should submit a request to release the guarantee using a form available at the regional General Security centers or the General Secretariat, along with the original residency card if it has not been withdrawn."
