The Kurdistan Security Council announced the arrest of "Socrates Khalil," the right-hand man of ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, who played a significant role in the capture of the city of Mosul in 2014. According to a statement from the Security Council, "The major terrorist known as Socrates Khalil, also known as Abdullah the Bomber, was a close and highly trusted individual of the ISIS leader."
Confessions from the terrorist revealed that after spending five years in Turkey, he returned to the Kurdistan region using a forged passport and was immediately arrested in one of the areas of the region, according to the statement. Socrates Khalil, known as "Abdullah the Bomber," worked in bomb-making after joining ISIS and was tasked by al-Baghdadi with various terrorist missions. He had a prominent role in the effort to control the city of Mosul and participated in most of the organization's battles against Iraqi forces and the Peshmerga.
