The Tripoli Municipal Police, in collaboration with the municipality's workshops, carried out a campaign to remove obstacles from the roads and sidewalks in Martyrs' Square and its surrounding areas. Patrol members worked to lift and confiscate concrete, iron, and plastic barriers that had been causing severe traffic congestion, leading to numerous complaints from residents and passersby calling for the removal of these obstacles and encroachments on the roads and sidewalks.
The mayor, Riyad Yamak, confirmed his determination to rectify the situation by addressing all reports and complaints to alleviate residents' concerns. He stated, "We ask our fellow citizens in Tripoli, across all areas, to remove barriers and violations from public and private properties, as well as from the roads and sidewalks; otherwise, they will be removed and confiscated. This request is based on the desires and interests of the city's residents." He also noted that this statement serves as a warning to all violators in the city. Furthermore, he mentioned receiving many "calls from residents of Martyrs' Square and drivers expressing their happiness, gratitude, and appreciation for this initiative."
