The commander of the naval forces of Iran's Revolutionary Guard, Admiral Ali Reza Tangsiri, affirmed his country's commitment to ensuring security in the Strait of Hormuz through efforts of peace and brotherhood, highlighting the importance of the oil-rich region. In an interview with the Iranian news agency "IRNA" on the occasion of "Persian Gulf Day," Tangsiri stated: "The Gulf holds significant economic importance, with 40 percent of the world's gas and 62 percent of its oil located in this area. From a security standpoint, this region is extremely vital, and we have sent messages of peace and friendship multiple times."
He added: "We seek to ensure security in the Strait of Hormuz, having established daily traffic for 83 ships passing through this strait. Our strategy in the Gulf today is one of peace, security, brotherhood, and friendship. Foreigners are undermining the security of the region." Tangsiri pointed out that "this region is strategic and economically significant for us and our neighbors." He explained that "foreigners aim to achieve two wicked objectives through their illegal presence and arms sales in the Gulf. They need hostility, while we seek security. They come from thousands of miles away, not searching for safety."
He concluded this segment by stating: "We have sent messages of peace, friendship, and brotherhood to the Islamic countries in the region and emphasized mutual benefit with the countries in the area."
