The official gazette in Egypt published two decisions by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to dismiss advisors from their positions. The Egyptian president's decision dismissed advisor Magid Nashet Othman El-Hilali, Vice President of the State Council, from his position. The second decision dismissed Ahmed Shukri Mouawad Mohamed, the assistant advisor at the State Council, based on a ruling issued by the State Council in disciplinary case number 6 for the year 69 in the disciplinary session on May 30, 2023, and based on the recommendation of the Minister of Justice.
The Egyptian State Council is one of the three pillars of the judicial authority in Egypt, which includes the Constitutional Court, the Court of Cassation, and the State Council. The council was established in 1946, modeled after the French Council of State, and is currently governed by Law No. 47 of 1972. It is responsible for adjudicating administrative disputes that arise between individuals and government entities and has the authority to annul government decisions and grant compensation. It consists of three sections: the judicial section, the fatwa section, and the legislative section.
