Israeli Official: We Feel Humiliated Before Hezbollah

Reserve Major General of the Israeli army and former commander of ground forces, Yiftach Ron Tal, revealed that Tel Aviv has reached "zero deterrence against Hezbollah with its dangerous capabilities in a war that makes us feel humiliated." In response to a question about "when the war in the north will begin," the Israeli website "Walla" quoted Yiftach Ron Tal as saying, "The war is already ongoing in the north, and it is a war that makes us feel humiliated." He added, "Israel has reached zero deterrence against Hezbollah, and Nasrallah is not afraid of us."

Ron Tal explained, "Hezbollah has built a security zone; they have dismantled our towns, and half of the population does not know if they will return, we are in a state of collapse." He pointed out that "the operation in Rafah affects the movements of the Israeli army and its ability to operate in the north, and officers prefer to negotiate with Hezbollah rather than leave them with their dangerous capabilities... They attacked us with the most advanced missiles." An assessment by "Walla" confirmed that "May of this year was the toughest in combat at the border with Lebanon," noting that "Israeli deterrence collapsed during this month."
