WHO Warns of Israeli Invasion of Rafah

Richard Peppercorn, the World Health Organization representative in Gaza and the West Bank, warned on Tuesday that "the last hospital in Rafah may become inoperable and a large number of deaths could be expected if Israel carries out a comprehensive invasion of the city located in the southern Gaza Strip." He emphasized that "if the incursions continue, we will lose the last hospital in Rafah," during a meeting in Geneva. He mentioned that in the event of a "full-scale invasion," the "emergency plan will not prevent what we anticipate, which is a massive increase in deaths and diseases."
