The executive committee of the Lebanese Democratic Party held its regular meeting chaired by the party's Secretary-General, Professor Wissam Sharrouf, at the district office in Jouret al-Jurd in Souf. They discussed the latest local developments and addressed key internal issues.
The attendees stated in a release that "the living and economic crises have affected all essential sectors that impact all citizens, and the failure to find fundamental solutions through agreeing on a name for the president of the republic, reaching their election, and forming a genuine government capable of making reform decisions and restoring the functioning of constitutional institutions will lead to a comprehensive collapse that cannot be restored at that time, regardless of desires and attempts."
They pointed out that "despite the importance of the pending files, the issues of education and health care remain a priority for resolution, addressing all the problems within them, and meeting the demands of teachers in public schools and employees in hospitals to enable Lebanese citizens to endure in these circumstances. It is noteworthy that the increasing cases of suicide are not promising and reflect the reality and depth of the crisis in Lebanon."
On the occasion, the committee extended greetings to all teachers on Teacher's Day, wishing for their demands to be fully met, as well as to Lebanese women in Lebanon and worldwide on International Women's Day, who make history every day and prove their ability to lead and hold high positions successfully.
The meeting concluded with an update from the head of the Jouret al-Jurd district, Sultan Abdul-Khalek, and district board members on the conditions in the area and the towns within the district's scope. Sharrouf and the committee praised the district’s efforts, particularly its recent initiative to open the Souf - Mdeirij road, emphasizing the importance of standing by the people and meeting their demands and needs within available resources.
