The Rebirth Beirut Association has completed the restoration and reopening of the "Gibran Andraos Tueni" park, named after the founder of the newspaper "An-Nahar," as part of its developmental projects in Beirut. This achievement was made possible through the combined efforts of local residents, benefactors, and the association, aimed at revitalizing the park that bears the name of a distinguished journalist who founded a school in freedoms and journalism.
In a statement, Rebirth Beirut said: "As we remember Gibran Tueni in the month of journalism, the association reiterates its commitment to the values it seeks to promote, which are a culture of meeting and dialogue to reflect the most beautiful image of the capital."
The inauguration ceremony brought together association members, local residents, media representatives, social and municipal figures, along with the Governor of Beirut, Marwan Abboud, who is the primary supporter of the association and its activities.
In his speech at the inauguration, the association's founder and president, Kabi Fernini, said: "This park where we stand today has been restored thanks to the neighborhood's residents and the initiative of a generous benefactor, for whom we express our gratitude, stating: thanks to people like you, Beirut is being rebuilt." He added: "Beirut will remain a cultural landmark for the entire region and the world, and this is what we strive to achieve through our tireless work."
Finally, Abboud emphasized "the importance of supporting associations like Rebirth Beirut to revive the capital," thanking the association, its president, and its members, and wishing for prosperity and growth for Beirut and the Lebanese people.
