The "YASA" Association addressed a call to the Minister of Interior and Municipalities in the caretaker government, Bassam Mawlawi, stating that "after the suspension of driving tests at various centers of the Traffic Management Authority, and following the significant damages caused by this suspension since the fall of 2022, the demand from young men and women in Lebanon for the immediate resumption of organizing these tests continues." It pointed out that "for over a year and a half, they have suffered from the inability to obtain driving licenses, which has greatly impacted their lives and economic and social opportunities. Therefore, the calls for the reinstatement of these tests come at the right time to meet the rights of this important segment of society."
It expressed its "full support for the demands of young men and women," emphasizing "the importance of enforcing the law and providing fair opportunities for all citizens," stressing that "the reorganization of driving tests in accordance with the applicable Lebanese laws is a necessary step to ensure road safety and empower young men and women to obtain driving licenses fairly and effectively."
It urged "the relevant authorities to act swiftly to meet these demands and to work on appropriately reactivating the driving tests, ensuring that the process is transparent and fair for everyone, which would enhance trust in the traffic system and the development of driving skills, positively impacting road safety."
