Turkish authorities announced that five people died and more than fifty others were injured in an explosion caused by gas at a restaurant in western Turkey on Sunday. Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya stated, "The number of our citizens who died has risen to five, and 57 of our citizens were injured," explaining that the incident was caused by a gas cylinder according to initial reports. The explosion occurred inside a restaurant in the city of Torbalı, south of Izmir, and was heard from several kilometers away, according to the Anadolu news agency.
