Arrest of 30 Individuals as Part of Security Measures Implemented by the Army

The Army Command - Directorate of Guidance announced that "on 1/5/2024, as part of the security measures implemented by the military institution in various regions, a patrol from the Directorate of Intelligence, supported by a unit from the army, conducted a raid in the area of the Shweifat Desert, resulting in the arrest of citizen (H.M.), who is wanted for committing crimes related to arms trafficking, forming a gang, extortion, and firing shots, in addition to creating disturbances. A war pistol was seized in his possession." The army units also arrested 29 individuals as follows: - 25 Syrians on the public road in Sheikhlar, Al-Awinat – Akkar, and in the regions of Ras Baalbek, Wadi Khaled, and Hermel for entering Lebanese territory illegally, and a hand grenade was found in one of the vans they were using. - 4 Palestinians at the Deir Ammar checkpoint - North, as they are wanted for committing various crimes, including firing shots. The seized items were handed over, and investigations with the detainees began under the supervision of the competent judiciary.
