According to the Hebrew channel "Kan," as reported by journalist Khaled Issaef, work began at the military airport in southern Lebanon, based on satellite images, in November 2022, with asphalt being laid in July 2023. The Israeli channel stated, "It appears that during August, according to satellite images, the runway paving was completed, and a helicopter landing pad was constructed," confirming that "just about two weeks ago, the runway was painted with aviation markings."
In this context, the website (vdlnews) learned that the military airport is located in "Al-Jabour Camp" affiliated with Hezbollah, situated in Jabal Al-Rihaneh, above the last knot in the western Lebanon mountain range, between the region of Al-Tuffah to the west and eastern Bekaa.
Regarding information about the mentioned camp, sources state that "Hajj Radwan" supervised and planned the establishment of this training camp after the July 2006 war, which is part of the North Litani area, having a strategic geographical location.
Sources confirmed that work in the camp accelerated after the July war, quickly transforming it into a small-scale war zone, with firing ranges and small buildings where combat maneuvers are conducted in urban areas, from house to house, where Hezbollah fighters gained extensive experience in combat within the camp, which was later utilized in the war on terrorism in Syria.
The sources added: "Tens of thousands of mujahideen have graduated from Al-Jabour Camp, which holds special significance as it humiliated the Israeli army that was attacked while stationed there during the occupation, leading to severe losses in the ranks of the Israeli army."
When asked about the reason for naming the camp, it was mentioned: "It is named after the small Al-Jabour Lake at the top of the pasture belonging to Jabal Al-Rihaneh."
