The European Union Considers Potential Attack on the Crimean Bridge

European Union diplomatic service spokesperson Peter Stano indicated that "the EU is considering the possibility of a Ukrainian attack on the Crimean Bridge in the context of Ukraine's right to self-defense." The European representative in Brussels added, "Generally, we refrain from commenting on operational and field issues and military strategy matters, but it is clear to us that Ukraine is fighting for its survival and that Ukraine has a legal and internationally recognized right to self-defense." Earlier, Ukraine's permanent representative to the United Nations, Serhiy Kyslytsya, noted that "there seems to be an implicit threat of an imminent attack that could occur this year on the Crimean Bridge." This has been stated multiple times by Volodymyr Zelensky and other officials.
