Amioun Station Stops 3 Thieves

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division issued the following statement: "On 04-12-2023, an agent of one of the women reported to the Amioun Station of the Regional Gendarmerie Unit that an unknown individual had entered her home located in the Kousba area of Koura and stolen from a safe the amount of /130,000/ US dollars, /28,000/ euros, /150/ gold coins, in addition to some gold jewelry. Following this, the station's personnel initiated field and investigative measures to identify the perpetrators. As a result of their diligent efforts, they came to suspect the following individuals: - F. G. (born in 1991, Lebanese) - F. B. (born in 1980, Lebanese) - N. M. (born in 1973, Lebanese). They were summoned to the station, and during the interrogation, they initially denied any involvement in the robbery. However, after confronting the first suspect with evidence proving her involvement, she confessed that she carried out the robbery in collaboration with the second suspect and gave her /60,000/ US dollars and /2,000/ euros, while the third suspect took a box containing /100/ gold coins, and that she gave her husband (M. D., born in 1992, Lebanese) everything she had stolen. Upon listening to the husband's testimony, he admitted that he took from his wife /20,000/ US dollars, /15,000/ euros, /48/ gold coins, and some jewelry, and that he sold all the gold coins to two jewelry stores in Akkar owned by (A. S.) and (H. K.), purchasing with the money /3/ cars, /2/ buses, and a quantity of shoes worth /15,000/ dollars to sell in the shop he owns in the same area. He also mentioned that he stored part of the remaining money and jewelry in the house of a friend named (M. N.). After identifying the friend's house and the jewelry stores, they were raided, and what remained of the jewelry and money was seized from (M. N.)’s house, with the jewelry recovered from the jewelry stores. The seized items were handed over to the claiming party, and legal measures were taken against the detainees (M. D.), (F. G.), (F. B.), and (N. M.), who were referred to the competent authority based on judicial orders, while the others were released on the basis of residency bonds."
