The Egyptian Zamalek Club announced today, Monday, the expulsion of Mortada Mansour's membership, revealing the reason for this decision. Zamalek posted on its official account on the "X" platform, stating: "The Board of Directors of Zamalek Club, headed by Hussein Labib, has decided to expel Mortada Mansour's membership due to his failure to meet the conditions for acquiring public membership, in accordance with the provisions of Articles 8 and 12 of the club's bylaws."
According to the website "Masrawy," the third clause of Article 8 of Zamalek Club's bylaws states that a member must not be deprived of exercising their civil rights, and no final judgments have been issued against them for a felony or a misdemeanour involving honor or trustworthiness.
In April of last year, the Administrative Court in Egypt issued a ruling dismissing Mortada Mansour, the President of Zamalek Club, from his position. This ruling came less than a month after Mansour served a one-month prison sentence in a case involving defamation of Mahmoud El Khatib, the President of Al Ahly Club, which led to calls for his removal.
In August of last year, the Cairo Economic Court ruled to impose a six-month prison sentence on Mortada Mansour and fined him 20,000 Egyptian pounds for insulting and assaulting a public employee while performing their duties.
