Robert Habeck, the German Vice Chancellor, emphasized that "Israel has crossed the boundaries and must adhere to international law," while the war between Israel and Gaza continues since October 7. He stated, "We cannot imagine an attack on Rafah without significant human casualties, and we will not allow such an attack to be carried out."
The International Court of Justice (ICJ) ordered Israel yesterday to cease its military assault on Rafah, with 13 of its members in favor and 2 against, indicating that "Israel must report to the court within a month on the measures it will take."
The court clarified that "the temporary measures taken do not fully address the repercussions of the changing situation in the Gaza Strip." This court order came at the request of South Africa as part of a lawsuit previously filed against Israel for committing genocide against Palestinians in Gaza.
