The Internal Security Forces announced that, as part of their ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking across various regions in Lebanon, they received information regarding the formation of a drug trafficking network in the city of Choueifat, utilizing a red Hyundai vehicle. Consequently, the Information Division was assigned to conduct field and investigative procedures to identify and apprehend those involved. As a result of extensive investigations and inquiries, the division was able to establish the identities of the suspects: H. Z. (born in 1994, Lebanese), M. B. (born in 1996, Lebanese), and A. M. (born in 1994, Lebanese).

On July 20 and 23, 2023, following careful surveillance, the first and second patrols observed the aforementioned Hyundai vehicle in Choueifat, leading to the arrest of the two individuals and the seizure of the vehicle. The third suspect was apprehended in the Bekaa region after he fired a gun at the patrol officers while attempting to flee, but he was subdued and arrested, and his weapon was confiscated.

Upon searching the individuals and the vehicle, the following items were seized: 38 bags containing heroin, one bag containing a piece of hashish, approximately 1.3 grams of heroin, approximately 1.7 grams of hashish, a narcotic pill, a handgun, and an identification card belonging to the third suspect's brother.

During the investigation, the suspects confessed to the charges against them regarding drug trafficking to a substantial number of customers in Choueifat using the second individual's vehicle, and efforts are ongoing to arrest other accomplices.
