Lebanon Adds 8 Medals on the Second Day of the Arab Swimming Championship

The Lebanese swimming team added 8 new medals, consisting of 4 gold, 3 silver, and 1 bronze, at the Arab Aquatic Games for age groups hosted in Doha, Qatar, concluding the second day of competition. This brings Lebanon's total medal count to 26: 12 gold, 9 silver, and 5 bronze, placing Lebanon in second place behind Algeria, which leads by a single medal after both teams tied in gold medals.

In the men's 50-meter backstroke for the 17-18 age group, Ahmed Safia finished first with a time of 26.91 seconds. Talin Murad won the gold in the girls' 50-meter backstroke for 15-16 years with a time of 31.69 seconds. Lori Aouad secured a gold medal in the 200-meter butterfly for the 15-16 age group with a time of 2:27.02 minutes, while the silver in the event also went to Lebanon, through swimmer Maryan Takli, with a time of 2:31.27.

Angela Doumanian won the gold medal in the 100-meter freestyle for the 13-14 age group with a time of 1:02.39 minutes. Sofia Chantiri took the silver in the 100-meter freestyle for the 15-16 age group with a time of 1:01.83 minutes, and Angela Doumanian also secured a silver in the 200-meter butterfly for the 13-14 age group.

The Lebanese team finished third in the 4 X 100 meter freestyle relay for the 17-18 age group, consisting of swimmers Karl Ghanam, Ryan Shab, Majed Hijazi, and Ahmed Safia, with a time of 3:39.03 minutes. The Lebanese delegation is led by the Secretary General of the Lebanese Swimming Federation, Farid Abi Raad, and includes coaches George Yzbek, Francois Ghattas, and Mohamed Al-Saqr.
