Earth successfully survived a powerful solar storm that occurred last weekend, but experts warn that stronger eruptions may continue until 2025. In an interview with the British newspaper "Daily Mail," Harvard astrophysicist Jonathan McDowell stated, "The sun has not yet reached its 'maximum energy,' which is the most active point in its 11-year solar cycle, where disturbances increase the sun's overall energy output." Experts predict that this "maximum" will occur next summer, specifically in July 2025, noting that the upcoming solar storms could have very severe effects. McDowell mentioned, "We could easily face much larger storms in the next year or two." In the "minimum" of solar activity in 2019, the number of visible sunspots on the sun's surface was zero, but at the upcoming maximum in July 2025, the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Space Weather Prediction Center estimates there could be up to 115 sunspots.
